Access Management is the coordinated planning, regulation, and design of access between roadways and land development.  It encompasses a range of methods that promote the efficient and safe movement of people and goods by reducing conflicts on the roadway system and at its interface with other modes of travel. This webinar is designed to guide you through the procedures, standards, and permits for building (driveways) from private property to State highways.

Crash Data Resources

Transportation safety is a top priority for Colorado. CDOT Traffic Safety & Engineering Services developed performance dashboards displaying all public reported roadway crashes to better understand the numbers, cause, types, and locations of crashes in order to develop effective countermeasures and provides crash data upon request. This webinar provides basic training of how to utilize the dashboard tools and how to obtain crash data.

HSIP Funding

Under the FAST Act of 2015, the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) was created as a core federal-aid program to States for the purpose of achieving significant reduction in fatalities and serious injuries on all public roadways, including non-State owned roads and roads on tribal land. This webinar provides basic training on how to apply for HSIP funding.

Safety Circuit Rider

In 2005, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) identified an opportunity to enhance safety service primarily to serve counties and local agencies.  The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), in partnership with the FHWA and Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP), is pleased to announce the creation of the Safety Circuit Rider program for Colorado. This webinar will provide general information of the program and how the program can help counties and local agencies enhance transportation safety.
