About the Program 

The Office of Innovative Mobility (OIM) at the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) launched the CDOT OIM Grants Platform to provide grants to private, public, non-profit, and local agencies to fund innovative mobility and electrification solutions in the state of Colorado. 

The purpose of the expanded OIM grant is to help stakeholders with financial assistance to implement programs and projects to support the goals and objectives of the Office of Innovative Mobility’s core mission. This grant encompasses funding and material opportunities from OIM’s Mobility Services and Electrification & Energy and Programs. The OIM Grant Opportunities below are updated for CY2024 Round 1. 

We are now accepting applications for the CY2024 Round 1 of the OIM Grant opportunities! Applications are due March 29th, 2024 by 11:59 PM. Please submit completed applications to [email protected]

A timeline of the CY2024 Round 1 OIM Grants. January 5th 2024 to March 29th 2024: Application Window, NOFO releases and all applicants are notified of opportunity and timeline. March 29th to June 18th 2024: Award Determination, All applications have been received and evaluation committee determines grant awardees. June 18th 2024 to July 31st 2024: Scope Negotiation, Grant awardees complete scope negotiation, profile setup, and risk assessment. July 31st to October 8th 2024: Contract Writing, procurement team drafts and issues grants to award recipients. October 8th: Last Step, Notice to Proceed Issued ,
CY2024 Round 1 OIM Grants Prospective Timeline. The timeline is subject to change.

Do not worry if you miss this round. We expect to open CY2024 Round 2 in the Summer of 2024.

Mobility Services

Mobility Services’ TDM Grant contains two funding opportunities:

  • Transportation Management Organization (TMO) Seed Funding Grants - Providing resources for new TMOs programs to form in currently underrepresented areas of the state.

  • Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Innovation Grants - Incentivizing Innovation grant ideas that reach new audiences or address gaps in current practice or scale up existing best practices to expand their impact.

Electrification and Energy

The Electrification and Energy Grant contains two funding opportunities:
  • ZEV Workforce Development - To develop and attract the skills and talent necessary to meet the changing demands of the transportation electrification sector. This grant addresses multiple challenges that Colorado and the wider mobility and electrification industry are facing: talent shortages, gaps in new skillsets, and the growing need for training due to technological advances.

  • E-Mobility Education and Awareness -  To expand public awareness and education around EVs and increase public understanding of their benefits, capabilities, and availability.

Strategic TDM Grants $20,000 to $50,000 for Innovation Project Grants
$20,000 to $100,000 for Seed Funding Grants
20% match encouraged, but not required
Electrification and Energy Grants $20,000 to $100,000 for both ZEV Workforce Development and E-Mobility Education and Awareness Grants 20% match encouraged, but not required
