CDOT to Host Oct. 22 Open House for US 550-US 160 Connection South Project

Oct. 16, 2018 - Public to get First Look at Design-Build Process of Improvement Project


DURANGO—From 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, CDOT will host a public open house to present information about the planned improvements to the US Highway 550 and US Highway 160 Connection South Design-Build Project.

This event will educate the public and provide an opportunity to discuss the key project components. Topics include:

  • project partnerships and funding;
  • the definition of a design-build project;
  • environmental considerations;
  • archaeological work;
  • right of way; and
  • design variations.

CDOT representatives will be on hand to answer questions and explain different aspects of the project, anticipated for construction in 2020.

Project Info

As the Four Corners region continues to experience growth, the widening of US 550 and the connection to the US 160 Grandview interchange is part of a long-range plan to enhance mobility for all of Southwest Colorado. Completion of this project is key for supporting future growth, providing mobility, safety, economic vitality and connectivity for all of the communities within this growing region.
