Fuel Cleanup on State Highway 119 Through Boulder Canyon Complete

March 6, 2014 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - BOULDER COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has completed its cleanup efforts on State Highway (SH) 119 in Boulder Canyon at mile marker 34.6 after the fuel spill that occurred on December 2.

Due to the large amount of fuel that spilled (approximately 4,000 gallons), cleanup efforts took longer than expected as crews had to clean up the fuel that spread in a narrow section of highway.

CDOT thanks motorists for their patience during the cleanup, which required a traffic signal to be in place 24/7 for the past few months. Moving forward, short lane closures may be in place during week days as crews finish final tie-in work on the highway. Thank you for driving Slow for the Cone Zone!
