CDOT to Host Telephone Town Hall for State Highway 72 Flood Recovery Efforts Through Coal Creek Canyon

October 21, 2013 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - DENVER -- The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will host a telephone town hall at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22 for members of the public to learn more about efforts currently underway to repair State Highway (SH) 72 between SH 93 to SH 119 in Coal Creek Canyon.

Construction crews are working from both sides of the canyon to provide a temporary roadway that will reconnect the communities by December 1, 2013.

The town hall will last for one hour and include a panel of representatives from CDOT, Jefferson County and Lawrence Construction. A representative with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will also be on hand to answer any questions callers might have about federal assistance. Along with listening to the panelists talk about the project, town hall participants will have the opportunity to answer periodic polling questions using their phone keypad and ask questions of the panelists.

Anyone can participate in the town hall by calling 877-229-8493 at 7 p.m. and entering access number 112034. Registered voters living in the Coal Creek Canyon area will receive a call directly at 7 p.m. asking if they want to participate.

An audio file of the town hall will be posted to CDOT’s website at http://www.coloradodot.info/projects/floodrelatedprojects/sh-72-coal-creek-canyon-1 for those who are unable to participate.

CDOT selected Lawrence Construction to conduct temporary repairs along SH 72 through Coal Creek Canyon as part of a plan to restore mobility on some of the state’s most heavily damaged roadways.
