Surface Maintenance on Frontage Road

June 3, 2013 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - PUEBLO COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be chip sealing the Interstate 25 West Frontage Road, north of Pueblo, this week.

On Tuesday, June 4, and Wednesday, June 5, a pilot car will alternate traffic through the work zone at various locations between Piňon and the Pueblo/El Paso county line (mile 110-116) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Delays around 10 minutes can be expected.

Upon completion of the work, sweepers will be operating on the highways each evening, cleaning any of the remaining small, loose rocks prevalent in chip seal resurfacing areas.

Chip sealing is a preventative maintenance operation, extending a highway’s effective surface life three to five years.
