Bridge Work Sunday on I-25

March 8, 2013 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - EL PASO COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will repair the expansion joint on the Interstate 25 bridge over North Gate Boulevard overnight Sunday.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday, March 10, the right lane will be closed on northbound I-25.  It will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday.

Along with a reduced speed limit, some traffic slowing should be expected.  The Colorado State Patrol will be on hand to assist with traffic control.

Expansion joints allow bridges to expand and contract.  Preventive maintenance reduces the possibility of structural damage, extending the service life of a bridge.

This repair work is not part of the upcoming widening project on I-25 between Monument and Woodmen Road in Colorado Springs.
