Intermittent Preparatory Blasting Schedule for I-70 Twin Tunnels

February 25, 2013 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - IDAHO SPRINGS – The following traffic stops are scheduled for preparatory blasting activities at the Twin Tunnels on Interstate 70 just east of Idaho Springs.*

Tuesday, Feb. 26, between 9:30 and 11 a.m., all I-70 traffic will be stopped for about 20 minutes near the Twin Tunnels for rock blasting and rock removal activities.

* These intermittent, daytime traffic stops are scheduled to occur at the Twin Tunnels through April 1, for preparatory blasting activities. There will typically only be one preparatory blast per day and traffic will be stopped for approximately 20 minutes each time. Traffic stops will not occur during high traffic periods. Notice of the prep blasting schedule will be provided by the Twin Tunnels Public Information Team the day prior to or the morning of the blasting.
