Informational Public Meeting Scheduled for Upcoming Bridge Replacement Project at I-25/84th Avenue

February 16, 2011 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 6 - THORNTON – Tomorrow, February 17th, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will host an informational public meeting regarding an upcoming bridge replacement project at I-25 and 84th Avenue.

The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Training Room at the Thornton City Hall located at 9500 Civic Center Drive.  The meeting will be an open house with a brief presentation at 5:45 p.m.

“This important bridge replacement project will begin in the next week or two and take approximately a year and a half to complete,” said CDOT Project Engineer Bryan Kalliokoski.  “This meeting will give residents, businesses and commuters an opportunity to find out more about the project and the traffic impacts.”

The project will replace the existing 84th Avenue bridge over I-25 with one that is wider to accommodate an additional left turn lane from eastbound 84th Avenue to northbound I-25.  In addition, there will be 10-foot sidewalks on each side of the bridge to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety.
