Girder Installation Continues Next Week on Arapahoe Road and Parker Road

February 11, 2011 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 6 - ARAPAHOE COUNTY – Girder installation for the new Parker Road bridge over Arapahoe Road began last night, February 10th. Crews were unable to complete the first round of girder installation in one night so the work will continue on Sunday, February 13th, and Monday, February 14th. The work will require full closures of Arapahoe Road at Parker Road each night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

While the work is underway, the following detour routes will be in place:

  • Eastbound Arapahoe Road Detour: Motorists on eastbound Arapahoe Road will take a right onto Chambers Way and drive behind the Cornerstar Mall to Parker Road.
  • Westbound Arapahoe Road Detour: Motorists on westbound Arapahoe Road will take Lewiston Way north around Arapahoe Crossings mall to the traffic signal at Parker Road.

Delays are expected each night and alternate routes are strongly advised.  CDOT would like to remind motorists to plan ahead, obey all construction signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.

Hamon Constructors, Inc. is the contractor for this $32 million project, which should be complete by the end of November 2011.
